Apple's App Store Will Be 'Split in Two'

Apple is adapting to the European Union's Digital Markets Act by dividing its App Store [into two distinct versions](https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/apple-to-split-app-store-into-two-parts#:~:text=Gurman%20explained%20that%20Apple%20had,and%20third%2Dparty%20payment%20systems.): one for EU countries and another for the rest of the world. This change allows for sideloading and third-party payment systems in the EU. Apple will also modify FaceTime and Siri in Europe to align with antitrust rules. While Apple expressed concerns about user data security, the EU insists Apple can safeguard against malicious apps while accommodating third-party developers. The new EU version of the App Store will be available for download in the coming weeks.
